               Take this quote for example: “I shall cast terror into the hearts of the infidels. Strike off their heads, strike off the very tips of their fingers.” Quran 8:12

               It’s right there in the Koran. Sure, some translations may say “slice” instead of “strike” or something like that, but the idea is there and it’s repeated again and again. And please, no “that’s out of context” garbage.

I found that greatest scientist and philosophers have denied the pseudo pagan or idolatry belief of religion whether it is found in complex Hinduism, Christianity, or any other religion. As you have mentioned above the verses have finest explanation directly concerned with “time” “Value” and ” situation”. it does not simply say to be unfriend with unbelievers. it has profound explanation that you should know a man of sense. you should know that the verses says in another point about Jews and christian and others. Stop spreading non-sense hate and violence against Muslims. become natural, wise and stand in the house of truth from the bottom of your heart after studying the facts in all religious scriptures.             Believe in Jesus or be denied:

            Non-believers are all considered anti-christs!:

            2 John 7: “For many deceivers have gone out into the world, men who will not acknowledge the coming of Jesus Christ in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.”

            Why the need for the Epistles of John to claim that those who don’t believe in Jesus are not of God or that they are “deceivers” and “antichrists”? That’s just plain old fashioned discrimination and a tactic used to force submission and turn everybody else into 2nd class citizens. If Jesus really existed there would be no need for any such discrimination. Shouldn’t people, especially Christians, be asking, “Who were those people who “confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh” and why?

            The burning of unbelievers during the Inquisition was based on the words of Jesus:

            John 15:6 “If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.”

            Burnings are described several times in the Bible, including Acts 19:19, 1 Maccabees 1:56 and Jeremiah 36:27 and here are 73 more verses mentioning fire.

            They are without God:

            2 John 9 “Whosoever … abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God.”

            Psalm 14:1 and 53:1: “The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no god.’ They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds, there is none that does good.

            Non-believers should be shunned. Neither marry nor be friends with them:

            2 Corinthians 6:14-17 “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? … Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord.”

The Christian’s view on nonbelievers is that we are called to be fishers of men and proclaim the good news to them so that they can have what we have.             3. I could go on with a theological discourse on the passages quoted but, I will simply point out that they are there. The Bible does teach that there is a time of judgment coming upon those who reject the Savior (Jesus Christ). I would however point out that it is not God’s will that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. Having said that, I would add that believers are not told to kill unbelievers but, they are rather to be messengers delivering the gospel to a lost and dying world. If the gospel is rejected there is coming a judgment but, it will be by God’s hand not ours. There is also a scripture that states “It is appointed unto man once top die and after this the judgment”

            What is a ‘kaffir?’

            Kaffir is an Arabic term for a nonbeliever or “infidel.” Kuffar is the plural, “infidels”:

            Also spelled ‘kafir’ or ‘kaffir’, Kuffar is a highly derogatory Arabic term used to refer to non-Muslims, though it is usually directed less against “People of the Book” (Christians and Jews) and more against others (Hindus, Buddhists, Shintoists, etc).

   1. I am an Indian citizen belonging to the female gender. I read the whole Koran with much hope of finding words of beauty and wisdom. What I encountered was mostly(with a few exceptions) words of hatred and misogyny. I thus realized the true reason behind the violence in the Muslim world. It is not their fault. They have been misled by a wrong ideology. Born in a Christian family, I am familiar with both old testament and new testament. While old testament contains some passages endorsing violence(not to the same extent as in Koran),Christ’s message is about love,kindness and forgiveness. Christ’s mission was to correct wrong ideologies and beliefs and it is in the new testament a true Christian should build her ideology on. Unfortunately I see many extreme Christians resorting to the Jewish religious verses (old testament) to spread messages which are contradictory to Christ’s ideology of love,the love which is beyond human-made divisions.

The Prophet (ﷺ) gave him the flag. `Ali said, “Should I fight them till they become like us (i.e. Muslim)?” The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “Go to them patiently and calmly till you enter the land. Then, invite them to Islam, and inform them what is enjoined upon them, for, by Allah, if Allah gives guidance to somebody through you, it is better for you than possessing red camels.”

I don’t know about you – but, if I am going to stake my eternal destiny on a book that claims to be the very word of God – it better have some serious hard evidence to support its claim. Do you agree?

       The Bible contains over 2,000 fulfilled prophecies. Mohammed tried his hand at prophesy – and found he wasn’t good at it. His prophecies didn’t take place as he claimed they would. If somebody predicts 2,000 future events accurately – and he says, “I am God – and I approve this message” – I’m going to listen to him.

       The Bible is validated by these 2,000 prophecies coming to pass – and the Qu’ran has no such support for itself.

       Muslims acknowledge Jesus Christ as prophet. So, WHY don’t you believe him? When Jesus spoke – he NEVER contradicted the prophets of the Old Testament. He actually was the FULFILLMENT of their prophecies. When Mohammad spoke – he contradicted Jesus all the time – right down to denying his Deity! If God never changes – then God’s MESSENGERS will not contradict one another.

       Jesus said he was the Son of God – and the Hebrew Scriptures said that God was sending the Jews a son – who would be born in Bethlehem (Jesus was born in Bethlehem), and raised in Nazareth (Jesus was raised in Nazareth). He would be of the House of David (Jesus was a descendent of King David). He would bear our sins and be crucified Jesus was crucified – on the exact day that was prophesied (nice trick if Mohammad could pull that one off – he was born 540 years too late!) . . . and this SON would be called “Mighty God”. Say WHAT?? “Mighty GOD”. Deuteronomy 18:18 is obviously speaking of Jesus Christ.

       However – Islam claims Deuteronomy 18:18 predicts Mohammad. Really? Let’s put this prophetic passage together with the other 200 Messianic prophecies: PROPHECY # 1: “Was Mohammed born in Bethlehem?”. Boiiiiing!! Not even close. GAME OVER.

    Islam is a very diverse religion of many interpretations and many schools of thought. These denominations have developed over centuries. It is not just about the literal translation of koranic verses, it is also about how the spirit of Islam and its early teachings should evolve and be applied in modern times. There are people out there who have studied Islamic history and teachings all their lives and still cannot agree on an all encompassing interpretation.

    Yet you have taken a few verses from the koran (the same verses I might add that hate preachers are using to get disillusioned people round to their way of thinking) and posted them on this blog claiming to reveal what Islam really is. You are using the same methods hate preachers use as a call to arms, in an attempt to vilify all muslims. Either way it is mainly muslims that are suffering (remember those men, women, children dying everyday in places like Syria, those losing all hope and dignity are muslims). You shut down all arguments by saying ‘stop being an apologetic muslim’ or ‘don’t try to use mistranslation/misinterpretation/out of context’. No one is being apologetic because this is not a mess created by muslims. And yes the misinterpretating, mistranslating and taking out of context argument is valid according to what the MAJORITY of muslims believe and practice.

    If you want to know what a muslim really is, look around you. There will be many muslims you will come across everyday. What are they like ? Do they mean you any harm ? Do they look down on you because you don’t share their religious beliefs ? Are they there to impose their religion on you ? Do they really wish to live by Shariah law or do they simply want to live where they are treated with respect and can express themselves without recrimination ?     Let me here quote from the experience of German philosopher Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. He said, “As often as we approach the Quran, it always proves repulsive anew; gradually, however, it attracts, it astonishes, and, in the end forces admiration.”[12][13] Professor Laura Vaccia Vaglieri explains: “The miracle of Islam par excellence is the Quran, through which a constant and unbroken tradition transmits to us news of an absolute certainty. This is a book which cannot be imitated. Each of its expressions is a comprehensive one, and yet it is of proper size, neither too long nor too short. Its style is original. There is no model for this style in Arab literature of the times, preceding it. The effect which it produces on the human soul is obtained without any adventitious aid through its own inherent excellences. The verses are equally eloquent all through the text, even when they deal with topics, such as commandments and prohibitions, which must necessarily affect its tone. Stories of Prophets, descriptions of the beginning and the end of the world, enumerations and expositions of the divine attributes are repeated but repeated in a way which is so impressive that they do not weaken the effect. The text proceeds from one topic to another without losing its power. Depth and sweetness, qualities which generally do not go together, are found together here, where each rhetoric figure finds a perfect application. How could this marvellous book be the work of Muhammad, an illiterate Arab who in all his life composed only two or three verses, none of which reveals the least poetic quality?” [14] Is it a miracle or not?

    Bernard Shaw who was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1925, said, “I have always held the religion of Muhammad in highest esteem because of its wonderful vitality. It is the only religion which appears to me to possess that assimilating capability to the changing phases of existence which can make it appeal to every age. I have prophesied about the faith of Muhammad, that it would be acceptable to the Europe of tomorrow as it is beginning to be acceptable to the Europe of today.”[15] Is it a miracle or not?

    Laura Vaccia Vaglieri, professor at the University of Naples, has further to say: “For the book, besides its perfection in form and method, proved itself beyond irritation even in its substance. In it, among other things, we read a forecast of future events, and a description of events which had taken place centuries before but were generally ignored. There are frequent references to the laws of nature, to various sciences, both religious and secular. We find there vast stores of knowledge which are beyond the capacity of the most intelligent of men, the greatest of philosophers and the ablest of politicians. For all these reasons the Quran could not be the work of an uneducated man, who had spent all his life in the midst of an unrefined society far away from men of learning and religion, a man who always insisted that he was but a man just like any others, and, as such, unable to perform miracles unless he had the help of Almighty God. The Quran could have its source only in Him Whose knowledge comprehends everything in heaven and earth.”[16] Is it a miracle or not?

    The other day, I ran into a group of middle-aged people who were wearing T-shirts and baseball caps written on it “infidel” in both English and Arabic. Since Arabic is my native tongue, I took a quick note of it and I feel I should clear up the misconceptions and misunderstandings about the use of the term “infidel.” as well as the word “Allah.”

    Myth # 1: Infidel does not mean “Westerner” or a “non Muslim”. The term refers to disbeliever, people who do not believe in God. It is also mentioned in the Bible and it means the same in Arabic.

    Myth # 2: People who think using the term is a clever way to insult Muslims are in fact making fools of themselves by declaring themselves to be atheists and enemies of their own God.

    Christians and Jews are referred to in the Quran as “people of the book” and are respected branches of Abrahamic religions. This means they all worship the God of Abraham.

    Myth # 3: Muslims worship only God that they refer to in Arabic as Allah. Because of language differences, God is referred to by different names, but they are one and the same. In German, God is called Gott and Jews call him Yahweh. I should note here that Jews and Christians living in Arabia use the Arabic phrase “Allah” when referring to God.

    Prior to Islam, Christians used the term infidels to describe unbelievers and enemies of God. Once again, the name God is Allah in Arabic and Yahweh in Hebrew. Next time someone pokes fun of the name “Allah” or misuses the term “infidels”, tell them, “Don’t be a fool, Allah means God and infidel means unbeliever.”

53. Read longer. You take out only one ayat. It says kill those who fight against you not those who have other religions. It says dont kill inoccent people.

Without explanation anything can be taken the incorrect way and you all have done a great job of picking and choosing single phrases and sentences that are capable of fitting your agenda.
