Girl murder rampant in Muslim world

Yesterday, I had heard the sickening news out of Turkey about a 16-year-old girl named Medine Memi being buried alive in a so-called “honor killing” because she talked to boys. In other words, she was murdered because she’s a girl – and that’s what happens to girls in classical - not “radical” or “extreme” – Islam.

Islam encourages girl murder, period. According to Islam, girls are worthless sex/household slaves and baby machines. If her “honor” is sullied by any male – except, of course, the 70-year-old men she’s “married” to – a young girl needs to be murdered – that’s what millions believe all across the Muslim world, whether or not the atrocious practice is pre-Islamic or condemned by certain imams.

Indeed, regardless of all manner of shrieking, “That’s not Islam!” the practice of murdering girls and women continues freely in Muslim countries. And that fact is exemplified by this recent act of misogynistic barbarism in Turkey.

This Turkish situation is so appalling that even the lefty liberal Huffington Post had to say something. It seems that the normally Islamoappeasing blog is slowly becoming awakened to the atrocities that fester in Islamic lands – something the rest of us have known for a long time. Although, naturally, the writer still has to make a lame disclaimer that “the brutalization of women and girls cuts across all religious and cultural boundaries…” Yes, yes, of course, we must coddle cuddly Islam wherever we can, even thought the ideology is one of the most awful violators of human rights in history and is certainly the most sexist and misogynistic.

The question is now, will Europeans really open up their borders to allow citizens of Turkey to move freely about, bringing with them these sorts of savage customs?

The murder of girls and women purportedly based on Islamic teachings has been so rampant over the past 1,400 years that we have scarcely scratched the surface. Add to that atrocious fact the shortage of marriable women – and girls, of course, since child marriage is allowed in Islam – because wealthy Muslim males take up to four wives to themselves, and we can understand to some extent why there are a bunch of angry, sexually frustrated Muslim men running around blowing things up. Islam does not encourage romantic love; on the contrary, it takes the rigid and hateful biblical attitude towards sex and women to the most derogatory and repressive extremes.

Classical Islam is, in effect, anti-love. And anti-girl. Islam hates girls unless they are completely enslaved under its oppressive doctrines. Girls who follow their hearts, make up their own minds and become free of external authority are despised by Islamists, who murder them at will.

  1. But keep in mind that “Islam is the religion of peace.”

This news just makes you want to run out and get a Muslim sitter for your 12 year old daughters doesn’t it? For that matte,r why not hire more Muslim teachers throughout our school system? They’re getting into positions of power throughout our gov’t already. I think it’s called … stealth Jihad.

Can’t wait until sharia courts are throughout the western world, especially the US so “honor killings” can be our new greatest past time too. It will replace baseball and other sports as our favorite things to do. It’s a great introduction into the witch hunts of the Inquisitions. Ahh, the good Ol’ days i.e. the DARK AGES

  2. Honour killings
A response I’ve heard made when the issue of honour killings is raised is that the situation is being distorted by the media.

The implication seems to be that when the list of honour killing cases is compared with the list of western domestic violence cases where men kill women, the west does not come off so well.

I should have made clearer that this is an argument I have heard and and I got a bit bamboozled by it. However, I thought of making the following point:

Whatever the stats say about honour killings and domestic violence in general, clearly both honour killings and domestic violence invite condemnation and the rationale underlying such practices also invite condemnation and if someone says but ‘your own people’ (as if I identified with a segment of the global population) do the same or worse then (if true) it just adds to the list of crimes to condemn.

  4. It seems to me that you’re quite unaware of the “non-Muslim’ world where mothers are microwaving babies, father are raping their daughters, and apalling child abuse. I’ve worked for a newspaper in California and have come across some of the most gruesome crimes that have nothing to do with your favorite people, Muslims! Ever researched the crimes against women in India Mr. Acharya. I think that will be my next topic.
Criminals are criminals, not identified by their religion. Islam doesn’t define or condone the killing of innocent people whatsoever. The only two things that really define this religion are the Quran and the hadith. Study them before you rattle on.

    1. The big difference is that this appalling behavior in the U.S. is illegal and frowned upon by society. Not so in the Muslim world, so your arguments hold no water at all.

I will agree, however, that the entire Abrahamic cultus – spawning Judaism, Christianity and Islam – is a foul expression out the desert regions under which far too many societies have been enslaved and terrorized for centuries.

I am also quite aware of and have written about the misogyny of India as well as many other places.

What you are engaging in here is a logical fallacy called “tuo quoque,” meaning “you too.” You are attempting to distract away from this issue by pointing fingers elsewhere.

Likewise your argument that “criminals are criminals” and religion has nothing to do with it is fallacious. Islam in particular – a reflection of the Orthodox Judaism and Christianity of the Bible – is virulently anti-woman. The Koran teaches woman hatred, period. If the Koran and Islamic doctrine have no negative influence on human behavior, then they also must have no positive influence.

      They are in effect worthless.

  5. You’re wrong if you think I condone such extreme violence. I say, ‘you too’ to illustrate a point: crime cannot be classified by religion, period. Stereotyping is a shortcoming we should try and overcome. Can you prove that the “majority” of Muslims engage in this kind of behavior? Nay.
I suggest you read Honor Killing: Dilemma, Ritual, Understanding.
Also, this kind of behavior is just as apalling in Muslim communities as is in “the U.S.”
The history of the rise of Islam clearly proves that women were actually freed from barbaric practices such as burning female babies, widows, prostitution. Unfortunately, the behavior of some has come to be the definition of Islam.
A woman myself, believe me, I am not trying to digress from the issue, only trying to correct your misconceptions.

    1. “crime cannot be classified by religion, period”

      Horse crap.

You don’t mind if I correct your misconceptions, do you?

Regardless of all the mindless apologizing and idiotic appeasing, Islam will remain a heinous ideology bent on enslaving the entire world. Islam is based largely on the oppression, suppression and repression of women, period.

  6. Oppressed? ME? Pfft, hardly!
I am sorry but I lived in a Muslim country my whole life and not even once had I heard about something like this and (to correct you) it is in extreme and radical Islam that people do this….I mean what you are trying to tell me…that as a Muslim family my dad wouldn’t hesitate at the chance of killing me, for talking to boys? Who do you think we are? Barbarians?

I think you need to do more research because I know for a fact that Islam definitely disapproves of killing women….there is many particular stories about these kinds of things where Islam disapproves. So please do your homework first then come out and criticize a religion :/

I say all this as a Muslim woman at my own free will, so stop trying to victimize us and make us seem “oppressed” and “repressed” Stop worrying about us, since I think you have enough problems of your own to worry about. If we need your help we wont hesitate to ask for it ;-)

    1. Yeah, right. What Muslim country have you lived in all your life? England?

Maybe YOU need to actually study the subject? You’ve never heard of “honor killings?” And you’re trying to convince us that they don’t exist and they aren’t sanctioned by Islam?

Sounds like taqiyya (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taqiyya) to me.

Here’s just one site about MUSLIM HONOR KILLINGS (http://www.reformislam.org/honorcide/). There are MANY others.

If you want to hide your head in the sand, that’s your business, but please don’t go around putting other girls and women in danger with your ignorant remarks.
Who do you think we are? Barbarians?
I don’t know about you personally, but certainly Islam itself is barbaric (http://thereligionofpeace.com/).

  7. please bear in mind that many actions of muslims worldwide are not in conformance and in accordance with the actual teachings of islam. there is lots of culture, tradition & customs that are the cause of this sort of actions by muslims.
YES, islam does not allow girls/ boys- males/ females who have reached puberty to mix with one another. the only exceptions are your wife, mother, sister, daughter, maternal & paternal aunts and your grandmothers. athough, im sure you are all intelligent enough to be able to find that out for yourselves, if you really wanted to.

    1.
please bear in mind that many actions of muslims worldwide are not in conformance and in accordance with the actual teachings of islam.
Yes, especially those “moderate” Muslims who are NOT following the Koran in denigrating women and infidels:

Quotes from the Koran and Hadiths (http://truthbeknown.com/islamquotes.htm)

And yes, please do follow up and study these writings for yourself these violent and hateful teachings followed by the most devout Muslims.

  8. Actually, I have read the Bible many times, but you apparently have not. I’m not talking about how Christianity has become over the past several centuries – I specifically said “biblical.” I choose my words carefully. If you are unaware of the heinous woman-abuse and misogyny of the Bible, you are not Bible-literate.

“Are you frightened to think that these fine women are actually enjoying the delights of Biblical sexuality?”

A totally asinine contention all around – are you joking? :-x

Having been raised a Christian and knowing Judaism and Christianity quite well, including having read the Bible in its original languages, I can attest that there is no such as thing as “delights of Biblical sexuality.” In fact, the very notion is absurd.

The biblical view of women’s sexuality is pretty much exactly the same as that of Islam. In fact, Islam unquestionably follows Mosaic law, as found in Deuteronomy, almost to the letter. All one needs to do is look at the Orthodox Jewish community to see the similarities.

Judeo-Christianity very much suppresses women’s sexuality. Indeed, its male God dogma completely destroyed true women’s sexuality as practiced in non-biblical religions that incorporated goddesses.

Here are just a handful of Christian scriptures demonstrating the sexism of the New Testament.

“But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of every woman is her husband, and the head of Christ is God…. any woman who prays or prophesies with her head unveiled dishonors her head …For if a woman will not veil herself, then she should cut off her hair …For a man ought not to cover his head; since he is the image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man. (For man was not made from woman, but woman from man. Neither was man created for woman, but woman for man.)” 1 Corinthians 11:2-10

“It is well for a man not to touch a woman. But because of the temptation to immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband.” 1 Corinthians 7:1-2

“Wives, be submissive to your husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. As the church is subject to Christ, so let wives also be subject in everything to their husbands.” (Ephesians 5:21-24)

“Let a woman learn in silence with all submissiveness. I permit no woman to teach or have authority over men; she is to keep silent. For Adam was formed first, then Eve; and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor. Yet woman will be saved through bearing children, if she continues in faith and love and holiness, with modesty.” (1 Timothy 11:15)

    And so, ad nauseam.

    Christian Scriptures (http://www.truthbeknown.com/christianscript.htm)

  9. “hateful biblical attitude towards sex”?
@Acharya: “Islam does not encourage romantic love; on the contrary, it takes the rigid and hateful biblical attitude towards sex”

Excuse me? But are you saying that the Muslim attitude toward women is similar to the Christian one? Have you never seen a Christian women studying amongst men at a university? Have you never seen a Christian women walking about freely without a head covering? Have you never heard of Christian women missionary pilots? Or Christian women in the army? Are you suggesting that these free Christian women, students of the Christian Bible, are repressed sexually? Are you frightened to think that these fine women are actually enjoying the delights of Biblical sexuality? I think you need to get out more.

  10. Christianity and Islam are both extremely sexist (along with all other religions). The differences is that in the United States, our laws are secular. If the buy bull was our basis for our laws, women here would have no rights like in Muslim countries. We must keep religion out of our laws. All religion is mysogynistic (except maybe Wicca and Deism). We must keep religion out of our laws, or women may end up in disgusting burkas. The fundamentalists want to go back to a time when women had no rights, just like women in Muslin countries today have no rights. That’s why all women, and men who love women, need to fight to keep our rights secular.
