1. reinstate her quickly. this world needs true facts
Just do it. what in hades is the matter with people that they revoke knowledge and history and truth. We must all wake up and see the bear.

Let’s go,,,Alex

Sounds like the list of “negative confessions” in the 125th chapter of the Egyptian Book of the Dead!

I have not transgressed any of those, except for, possibly, what I’ve stated here. It contained “nudity,” obviously. I apologize for thinking like an anthropologist. It will not matter, however, as FB has decided.

The question is, why is FB so harsh with someone who has been on their site for YEARS, posting thousands upon thousands of important news items, with over 10,000 friends and fans, while jihadi sites stand unchallenged, advocating VIOLENCE and HATRED?

1. Facebook is increasing your audience’s attention s
This is how you find those that really care about and love you Acharya :-) You know we all care about you and your work. The losers really never mattered at all anyhow.

3. Thank you for your thoughtful comments and support. Be aware, however, that the original image I posted was not blurred. I have blurred it for this website. As I explained, I didn’t think that an anthropological image found elsewhere, including Google Images, would be so offensive to Facebook, especially in consideration of all the rest of the horrible bilge and violence they allow on their site. While I apologize for posting the anthropological “nude” photo, it’s really disgraceful that FB allows these other sites free rein.

1. Sorry that I was confused about the details of the picture, I promise to be more attentive!

Yes, blurred or not, we’ve all seen many terrible items allowed on Facebook. Apparently, FB does have bias, and it’s very unfair to you. If anything, you deserved the courtesy of a FB warning.

As for me, I’ve been warned by FB at least a few times, and temporarily suspended a couple of times, along the way, some of my posts went *poof* and disappeared. Censorship is a disservice to everyone.

FB owes you an apology and reinstatement.

4. My letter to Facebook
Hi Acharya

At https://www.facebook.com/help/?ref=pf#!/help/contact/274459462613911 (https://www.facebook.com/help/?ref=pf#!/help/contact/274459462613911) I have written the following message

Facebook has mistakenly stopped the accounts of Acharya S/DM Murdock. It appears her campaign against child sexual assault was mistaken for a breach of terms of use. Please reinstate her accounts, which are important to me and many of her ten thousand Facebook followers and friends. I would be grateful if you could respond promptly.
Thank you
Robert Tulip

1. Response from Facebook
I got an email back from Facebook and have replied as follows.

From: Robert Tulip To: Facebook
Sent: Saturday, 19 October 2013 11:59 AM
Subject: Re: Report a Violation of the Facebook Terms

Thank you for your response.

Your email below does not address my request to reverse your decision to disable the accounts of Acharya S and DM Murdock. Ms Murdock has drawn attention to this at http://freethoughtnation.com/contributing-writers/63-acharya-s/828-facebook-permanently-disables-account-for-virginity-test-photo.html

It seems you are treating her work in anthropology as pornography. You have made a simple error. Please understand that if you ignore this it will become a public issue about a bad decision by Facebook. You are preventing people from sharing important information on human rights abuses. I hope you can promptly reverse your decision.

Many thanks,

Robert Tulip

Hi,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. The best way to report abusive content to us is by using the “Report” link that appears near the content itself. You can find information about report links in our Help Center: https://www.facebook.com/help/?faq=212722115425932

Facebook provides different tools for addressing abuse on the site:
• Send a message to the person responsible for posting
• Unfriend the person to remove them from your friend list
• Block the person from contacting you
• Report the person if their behavior is abusive
• Use privacy settings

Learn more about these tools in our Help Center: https://www.facebook.com/help/tools

If you have already reported this abuse, review the Facebook Community Standards to learn what type of content violates Facebook’s Statement of Rights and Responsibilities: http://www.facebook.com/communitystandards/

Thanks,
The Facebook Team

1. :-x The same robotic responces… NO ADMIN REVIEW REPORTED IMAGES its a complete automated system where practically anything and everything can get censored.

5. awww =(
When I saw that pic on your page, I had a feeling someone would get in a twist about it.

Do you think you’ll be able to make a new account under a different email address? If they won’t let you register I wonder if someone else could make you a new gmail account, create your profile, then give you the reigns. Perhaps what we could do is make an a closed facebook group called Acharya , and you could be the administrator of it.

6. I know the sight of torture is ugly. However, it is sometimes necessary to tell the truth. The torture of girl’s sexual organs needs to be shown, for the real truth to be known.

1. truth hurts
True Hank. This issue as well as combat issues. Modern people and sissies, and sheep don’t want to see truth, or the ugliness of the world so it will all continue on… non stop. Evil loves it like that and evil people like it. Out of sight- out of mind. Or too emotional to deal with..for many. That is why so many people today freak out, freeze up, or have no knowledge what to do in case of emergencies, or when dealing with some reality and world ugliness. Like killing people with drones is so clean and easy while the countless slaughter is hidden from sights and not allowed in American media or in our dumbing down schools with one train of thought products.

Restore her page FB and you know who I’m talking to, the ones behind the curtain. Stop all censorship.

2. No, this doesn’t need to be shown.
As the mother of a son who was seriously abused by a man at the age of 14 months, NO, these photos do not have to be shown on FB. If that is FB’s policy then FB has the right to stick by it. There are many sick people in this world and they don’t need anymore encouragement.

1. Thank you. I’m sorry to hear about your son’s horrifying abuse.

I obviously disagree that such abuse should not be exposed to the world. Hiding it only encourages the many sick people you mention, as they will feel they can get away with it.

But this isn’t about individuals abusing children – it’s about entire cultures doing it through useless and archaic rituals. It needs to be exposed.

As concerns FB’s policies, they allow violent jihadi death threats, bullying, real pornography and all kinds of horrible garbage. But they will not allow the suffering of little girls to be exposed.

Moreover, as I stated, FB could have simply deleted the image and warned me, rather than discourteously destroying several years worth of work.

7. just Fook FB!
That damn social experiment to track your every move.

Hate it, don’t use it, won’t ever use it, sorry you had to!

And more sorry you lost so much of your time and effort that went into you FB page.

FB is NOT a good thing.

8. Please Reinstate AcharyaS facebook page…
This is a very informative and important source of information to many… please reinstate… thanks for your consideration…

#AcharyaS #DMMurdock

9. Let’s get real!
Are they (facebook) nuts? An old saying by ‘whoever’…..”If you’re not part of the solution then you’re damned sure part of the problem” is sure as hell relevant here.

10. Please restore the Facebook account for AcharyaS. She’s a scientist and scolar. Cancelling her account is an affront to intelligence.

1. re: Facebook account for AcharyaS
Please restore the Facebook account for AcharyaS. She’s a scientist and scolar. Cancelling her account is an affront to intelligence]

You are right. This is news that everyone must hear and see.

11. Restore Account
To whom it may concern,

Please restore this account.
Many people put up posts depicting the reality of what is happening in the world and you don’t bother them. Perhaps this was a bit graphic, but it portrayed something that needs to be brought to the worlds attention! You could have warned her and simply deleted the post without cancelling her account.
I will send this information out to a vast networking of people I know in protest of what you have done and in hopes that all my friends cancel their facebook account unless you restore this account!
If you believe in social justice, then restore this account.
This is one of THE MOST IMPORTANT FACEBOOK PAGES!

12. What happened to freedom of speech?
I am concerned as to the amount of control face book is leveling with anything pertaining to the “Truth”….if people don’t want to see the truth…its easy,… don’t look…I would rather look and be informed…The enemy of all things illegal is transparency….these acts and practices should not be protected under “privacy” acts. Be real guys …this is not someone’s mail we are looking at…its a barbaric practice which is perpetrated on women by narrow minded religious and ethnic leaders and societies…it must be exposed…and face book is a excellent platform with billions of users.

I say this ban and blacklisting of the truth should be removed and the user reinstated.

13. Really?
You are upset about someone trying to stop child abuse and torture, but you have recently made it easier for young kids to post on facebook and have their private information distributed to possible predators who will be using your site. How can you reconcile this?

14. Facebook against Free Speech. Blatant censorship.
Please restore Facebook account for AcharyaS. People must see, hear
and read about the inhuman happenings in some parts of the world.

15. Thanks, folks, for your support.

It is sadly ironic that, when I complained to Facebook about a jihadi page (https://www.facebook.com/bab.al3mod.alaan/405589956) relishing the murder of a non-Muslim child, they refused to remove it.

1. Dumped too
I was dumped for posting pics and info about Israel, Rachel Corey, Mordecai Vannunu and other non-one-sided topics. Guess some truth is forbidden. Especially stuff about Gaza Strip and other sensitive topics or about American protests and objectors to the way things are.

I’ve been copying your information and sources on fliers I leave at the local library, along with non-manistream news materials. Some get to pick it up and read it and take it.. but most times the materials scattered around are picked up and trashed by a variety of librarians or students working there that won’t even give matters a thought. And they refuse any offer of book donations from you, by me, and other offered truthful or insightful materials. So so much for so-called libraries where we can all go learn from, and is supposed to be loaded with information of all sorts. Ring! Not true!

16. NSA, FBI or CIA spy your communications!
DEAR ACHARYA. Your article on virginity test is very interesting. Only the insane torture of the ablation of the clitoris in african little innocent girls is worst. Perhaps it is the most terrible torture, actually being performed in this century. Regarding your FB, do not worry, it is probable that the NSA, FBI or CIA have been monitoring your messages, your e-mails like this, your cell phone, etc., and decided to give you a hard time. As we ashtonishingly saw at the news, that the goverment has given itself the right to spy on your private communications! But never the less, as you say; the Truth will be known! Do not give up! Sinc. Marco A. Pena. Mexico City.

17. Not tolerable
I saw your comments on some postings of my friend, Dr. Ed Uthman, and feel there needs to be a degree of tolerance for those like you who think outside the box, and who are capable of making real contributions. For FB just to cut you off forever with no discussion, possibility of appeal, or further explanation is capricious and wrong. I can’t help but wonder if there is only one person who makes these judgements, whose opinion is final and unassailable.
I hope all this has a good outcome for you, whether your account is reinstated or not.

18. Facebook = more censorship more crap
FB has been dropping pages for a while now. I know of many. They are stinking anti-American and have their own agendas, plus being informants for our stinking government and Israel. As with local media and social sites FB, Yahoo, Google, Bing, Disqus chat, Topix, Topix Politix, and etc. all are following the path ceasing information, dumbing people down, being very selective on what news is allowed, dis-allowing free speech and thought and expression, and not allowing facts and real world news and events.

Very sad but this is the way of the new Amerika with foreigners and others ruling us, and with manufactured punks like with FB being the front to more evil doers behind him. Just like Bill Gates and many other creeps. Even WordPress and others sites are banning real news sites and blogs just as others are. That is unless they are paid agent provocateurs or something. Funny how some things remain active while others are specifically targeted. And all this when the sheep and this country needs to start seeing and knowing some real truth, open-mindedness, and real materials for ‘free thought instead of being forced to be PC and play cookie cutter people. Sickening! Oh well, ‘those people’ are the same that own and run Ebay are of the same cloth and done a lot of banning too… like books and writings from WW2 certain people of the same cloth didn’t want getting out or sold to us in Amerika. And who we are all supposed to bow to and think are better than the rest of us.

19. Zuker’s Islamopandering …
Apparently, FB has an agenda and it only includes exploiting us. I’ve been off of it about two years. FB probably got sand pounded up its rear by a bunch of jihadis and dhimmis/liberals about your page. Zukerberg deserves whatever jihad is perpetrated on him. He thinks that kissing Muslim a*s will protect him. It won’t.

20. Facebook Censorship
Hi, my first post here… D.M. Murdock you deserve better! This is what I posted on FB while sharing the link to this website’s page:

“Here’s another example of Facebook censorship. Someone that I follow, the brilliant D.M. Murdock and her Acharya S accounts, have been banned forever without any warning from Facebook.

All because she posted a *blurred* picture of the humiliating and abusive Virginity Test being publicly done in Egypt. The un-obscured version of the photo was published by the media in 2009, and can be found on many websites, including WordPress.

BTW, this child abuse Virginity Test has already come to the west…Where is the outrage? There is none, when it’s being censored and hidden from us.

D.M. Murdock aka Acharya S of Stellar House Publishing, is an Anthropologist, historian, expert on the history of religion, and seeker of the truth, who does indeed question religion – including Christianity. As a truth seeker, I know it’s good to question everything, this might even strengthen your own beliefs.

Censorship is wrong, and Facebook is again the anti-social, “social media”, for the lifetime banning of certain personal and business pages that had achieved thousands of likes, followers, and fans – without any warning.”

21. I find it completely disgusting …
That we should be polite to FB. FB should be polite to truth and the millions of people who made it successful. The shame and psychological damage of these little girls is on FB’s hands.

22. Male Abuse of Females is Rampant
Males continue to abuse females, especially the younger ones, at an alarming rate in Muslim countries. Virginity checks are invasive and traumatizing to young girls. Unenlightened peoples there continue ancient practices that have been banned in modern societies. Education is of paramount importance in these backward regions. The internet is the prime tool to bringing knowledge to the masses there.

23. Acharya, I was on your website last night & I shared your info on the YWEH coin with a friend who is Jewish. She is very nice but on her page she had just put a pic of a muslim man from India talking about how people should respect food and not take more than you can eat.. blah blah blah…

Her brother by the name of Epstein was the one who interviewed this muslim man for reasons as his webpage/website says sharing faith or something to that effect.

He has stated on his website that he has helped with bringing different races together. I believe it was Ohio?

I am telling you all this because just maybe it has to do with this as well as the fact the CEO & founder of yahoo Mark Zuckerberg who is of Jewish heritage as well?

Maybe it was really these people who were offended by the explanation of the YAWEH coin?

Just a thought. I may be incorrect by that assumption.

I hope this can be straightened out for you somehow.

24. Unfortunate but Expected
Sorry to hear what happened Acharya. It’s unfortunate that one has to use services like FB to reach a decent size audience, you put a ton of work into it, and they shut you down for a well-intentioned post because a photo is graphic and your writings are controversial. It’s very undemocratic and essentially fascist.

FB doesn’t want to stop the complacent party. Don’t show images of the dirty deeds of empire they’re benefiting from, don’t show anything uncomfortable, or you’ll be crushed.

I’d like to offer you any website or server help you may need. I’m the sys admin at ZeitNews. Contact me if you’d like: jstmartin |AT| riseup |DOT| net.

25. While I personally don’t care for Facebook, I don’t like it when any website bans users for unfair reasons. And in this case, it does indeed seem unfair. After all, images like the that “virginity test” one, blurred or not, are the sort of thing one might see in something like, say, National Geographic. Certainly not something that should be viewed as ban-worthy material.

26. I’m very sorry this happened, Acharya. Here is my public post on my FB page, along with a link to this blog:

“Acharya S is something of an acquired taste. She is an independent scholar with some unorthodox views. She tends to go overboard in some areas, and she has personally laid into me on more than one occasion when I challenged her conclusions. But here I think she has suffered a great injustice under the heavy hand of the anonymous Facebook admin.”

27. Reinstate Acharya’s Facebook Account
Acharya S/D.M. Murdock is doing a great service to free thinking humanity. The picture she publicized is thoughtfully/suitably blurred. Disabling her account is as bad as a autocratic government’s tactic to stifle social activists’ voice. Facebook resorting to it is nothing but a shame. Please, reinstate her account, Facebook Team.

28. Morons
 Can’t those idiots tell the difference between valuable news and kiddie porn? GAG!!!

I’m with you all the way.

Steve Gray

29. I was just out checking out nightlife and had no problem throwing a few bucks in the different tip jars for good artists.

A figure I’ll head over to your site now and tip the researcher/scholar/inspirer as you and your band of friends have done a lot more for me.

Here’s a 20 for gas, and a round of applause for all you do. You are a rockstar in my book.

30. Facebook Post – Sign the Petition!
I have just posted the comment below on my facebook page. As with wikipedia, there are secretive fundie trolls looking for any excuse to prevent debate. This may just be a pretext to stop Acharya from providing information about a range of religious issues

Facebook comment: A friend of mine is campaigning against child sexual assault and has been “permanently” banned from facebook for posting information about this problem. This is an appalling error by Facebook. If Facebook does not reverse this stupid decision, they are supporting abuse of human rights and censorship of legitimate free speech. Please sign the petition. http://www.change.org/petitions/facebook-reinstate-acharya-s-s-facebook-page

31. don’t worry
sweetheart, don’t let this bother you. You know “things happen for a reason.” I know that’s corny, but I do believe that; even if we don’t know what it is. You are very good at what you do. I have read all but two of your books, and I will get to those too. Keep the spirit you have, and don’t allow THE CONTROL SYSTEM get you down. There are other ways to deal with C/S people ‘in high places.’

32. Time to garner some more support
DM/Acharya:

If you’re reading this, hope you’re well.

For the record, I need to state that showing “everything” on FB – w/o providing via a Link to an external site for example – was not prudent.

Operative Word here is Fair Warning (and disclaimer). Photographic or Illustrative depiction of a non-“clinical” (as in, an anatomical diagram) view of Genitalia – tend to require fair warnings; and are usually not shown on FB.

That being said, IIRC, there are Age Filters on FB, screening out minors; but the General Information about the Christ-Myth and abuse by Religions is far too important to screen away from minors.

My suggestion – If you do get reinstated – keep it PG-13-level-Censored in the strictest sense on FB; and provide external links (w/warning) for the graphic content.

It may be prudent to contact other Child Abuse Prevention Groups on FB for support and recommendations.

Mythicist Milwaukee and Anne-Marie have done their share in letting everyone know. You’re lucky I have Anne-Marie in my Newsfeed due to other common interests. I personally don’t have any acquaintances that I know outside of FB who “Like” your Pages; and that may be the case for many more.

I’m tagging groups who may help; and have posted your Stellar Publishing House Email address from the Contact Us Section…

Regards,

Robert.

Best wishes

1.
For the record, I need to state that showing “everything” on FB – w/o providing via a Link to an external site for example – was not prudent.
Thank you, but for the record, I didn’t show “everything” without a link. As I stated in this blog, I link it to the battle in Canada to stop this appalling process on their soil. Their genitalia were not showing. What was showing was a grown man with his hand up in these children’s crotches.

1. Very well, then
I stand corrected as to “showing everything”.

However, the Photo was offensive enough to the Censors.

I made more scans within FB – it’s more like a TV-14 Level Site – which explains why.

While you’re at it, you may wish to ask them what level of Pixelization or editing of that Photo is acceptable; and Pre-approval of controversial photos may be the safe thing to do.

Regards,

33. Appreciate, If Acharya,s FB A/C is reinstated @the
“The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of our present F/B society constitute an invisible F/B governing body, largely constituted by men we have never heard of. They are the true controlling powers of this Internet entity( Face Book). They are ,Internally trying to govern us,mold our minds, form our tastes & ideas suggested, with strict order for compliances . Here they have achieved the Orwellian prediction – enslaved, the people have been programmed to love their bondage and are left to clutch only mirage-like images of freedom, its fables and fictions. The new slaves are linked together by vast electronic Face book chains ,through internet that imprison not their bodies but their minds. They are programming our desires & manipulating our tastes and our values are set for us. Whom so ever, ignore their dictum’s are unceremoniously taken out of their entity citing various flimsy reasons, which is not an acceptable norms. We urge upon all concerned in FB hierarchy ,to desist from, this illogical act. Please initiate immediate necessary action to ,rectify the errors and reinstate our Acharya,s F.B.account “

34. Not a fan! Signed though
I do not follow you because I believe that you at helping to perpetuate those ideas that separate us rather than unite. In my opinion it does not matter whether the masters were true living beings, what matters is that the teachings are alive. Through he teachings we learn if we remove ourselves from egoism.
I do however believe in truth, justice and freedom at any cost. So I signed. Good luck getting back to delighting your fans and making me shake my head in disapproval.
Namaste.

1. Thank you for your support.

However, you have portrayed my work fallaciously, and I am under the impression that you do not really know it. My work is very UNIFYING, not divisive, as it shows the unifying roots of religion dating back thousands of years. Exposing these “masters” as MYTHS derived from other cultures. It does a great disservice – indeed, it is very divisive – to “borrow” pagan myths, rework them as false “history,” and then trash the cultures from whom they come.

The real justice is delving into the meaning behind these myths and restoring the dignity to the cultures from which they came.

Cheers.

2. “Jesus”, thank for your belief “…in truth, justice and freedom at any cost.”

I disagree with your statement that Acharya S is “… helping to perpetuate those ideas that separate us rather than unite.”

Although, the truth be told, it would depend on who’s belief system could become separated and abandoned, because of knowledge.

Just think of the wars, religious persecution, beheadings, crucifixions, and untold amounts of suffering that could’ve been avoided, if more people knew, if what they know, is real.

Most devote religious folks don’t know why they practice certain customs, or of the origins of their traditions. Confuse them with the realities of their tradition, and watch-out…

Acharya S is an educator, knowledge is the key, and to have known better would always be unifying, and that could save our species from self-destruction.

35. About Your Book Formats
Why can’t I purchase etc. your eBooks via a PDF or an actual paper book via Amazon etc.? There are many people who do not own or want to read a book/article via a Kindle.

I was quite dismayed that I could not purchase your ‘Acharya’s Religion 101 for Seekers’ unless I had a Kindle. Personally, I believe you are losing another market demographic by not offering various formats.

1. Thank you for your interest.

FYI, the Kindle format can be used on many other devices, including personal computers, Macs, Androids, Blackberrys, iPhones, iPads and so on. You do not need a Kindle device. I chose that format because it is generally secure and because there are so many options.

Cheers.

36. Facebook, give Acharya S’s account a full review
Bet you 10 to 1 that AcharyaS’s FB account was reported as indecent by one or more relnuts who used those pics or some other entry by AS to shut her down. FB staff have to respond to reports by their users and I think they, the FB staff, reacted without giving AS’s account a proper review of her work. If they had, they would have realized that AS’s entries expose truths and faults in the world. By their actions here, I guess that FB wouldn’t allow campaigns against female circumcisions (Female Genital Mutilation) either.

I call on FB to give AS’s FB account a solid review in order to better understand her work and not to condemn her for bringing forth human violations. If they still have a problem with one or more of her entries, point them out to her, allow her to remove the content, and reinstate her account. She does much good through her studies.

37. Barberic, primitive custom that should have died w
Every time I hear people beat the drum with one of our favorite retorts, “Land of the free”!! I get sick to my stomach. Your treatment of acharya’s facebook page is one of the reasons why.
You have obviously caved in to pressure from a Muslim pressure group at the expense of human rights and legitimate free speech about a subject that needs all the pressure we can all bring to bear.
Show the world that you still have a pair of cojones and reinstate her facebook page.

38. “Unfortunately, for safety and security reasons, we cannot provide additional information as to why your account was disabled. This decision is final.”

What safety and security reasons? This is not logical.

“…we cannot provide additional information as to why your account was disabled.” Really?

I fear Facebook. That’s why I closed my FB account years ago during the furor over their announcement that they own all content we post to our accounts. I view Facebook as an evil, controlling entity which is up to no good. Their cancellation of AS’s FB account demonstrates that. It’s time to seek another format, a competing option to Facebook.

39. Nothing to do with religion …
“This abuse has nothing to do with religion”

Where have I heard that before? Oh, yeah, on almost every dhimmi liberal post I read everywhere.

If it has nothing to do with religion, then why does about 90% of this practice, if I remember correctly, occur in Muslim countries? There is no separation between Islam and “culture” in Islamic countries, Islam = Culture = Islam = Culture. And, if it has nothing to do with religion, then why did you bring it up? By your very defense of it, you’re saying that it does.

If it’s a disgusting practice and you are posting on this site, of all places, why are you defending Islam?

Is the defense of “religion”, specifically Islam, simply a knee jerk reaction to non-pc/mc information or is it something deeper?

40. Medical Photos Aren’t Prurient Photos.
Attention Facebook. For years I’ve been reading the Facebook page of Acharya S D. M. Murdock because I have an interest in religions. I object to your disabling-censoring Acharya.

Facebook, you’ve, therefore, disabled ME from reading Acharya and her vast international array of reader’s comments that I’ve become accustomed to and that I count on to be there almost daily.

There is NO prurient detail of any body part visible in the supposedly scandelous photograph. The photo is quite the OPPOSITE of prurient. If Facebook finds that photo to be prurient, then the censors at Facebook have some personal problems.

The photo contains NO violence.

Wikipedia’s Virginity Testing article includes a graphically detailed description of its’ procedures and says the “Reason for testing” is for the “Prevention of disease and pregnancy.” Therefore, the photo in Acharya’s article is a photo of a MEDICAL PROCEDURE rather than a prurient activity.

Were the Facebook censors stricken by a prurient nerve of arousal when they saw that photo? Would a photo of a doctor pulling earwax out an ear strike a nerve of prurient arousal in the Facebook censors?

Acharya S D. M. Murdock, please forward this comment of mine to Facebook and to anyone else that you choose.

Jon Smetana

1. Facebook outsources its censorship dept to third world countries, and many of its censorship workers are from Islamic nations, so I am sure this article hit a nerve at the Tunsian Branch of FB. Which is why she should hire a lawyer and make this into a religious discrimination suit.

41. Ironic thinks to FB
FB by it’s hamfisted actions has brought attention to this totally unacceptable practice. I doubt they meant to but I’ll thank them anyway. I am no tech but deleting a whole account for one picture seems to be pathetic – isn’t the technology more sophisticated than that.
A real ‘thank you’ to Acharya S. The images were published elsewhere but was only here that I learned of this disgusting practice. This abuse has nothing to do with religion it is a complete lack of respect for girls and for women in general. If it is culturally to say so, so be it, but this is wrong.

42. Blessing in disguise?
I signed the petition to get your FB page back, but maybe this will turn out to be a favor from FB to you. I find FB is a tremendous waste of time. Maybe Google+ will turn out to be easier to work with. I’ve not done much with it yet, but if Google actually lives up to their motto, maybe they won’t engage in such arbitrary and unjustified censorship.

1. Thanks. My FB account was not a waste of time. I was able to post numerous news items, articles, blog posts, forum threads and so on for years. We had lively exchanges on a daily basis. It’s my main social networking outlet. I’m bereft!

Google+ is nearly impossible to work with, cluttered, difficult to use, and nobody “likes” or shares much there. I don’t get much traffic any time I post anything there either. At this point, it’s not much of an alternative.

But I do love how Facebook is allowing “snuff films” in order to “raise awareness” and “reduce violence.” But images showing cultural sexist abuse of little girls are VERBOTEN.

43. Sorry, you are wrong
There was no need to post this photo. Yes, it is a controversial practice. But it is lurid at the same time. Chopping peoples’ heads off is also quite controversial in that part of the world. Should Facebook be forced to display decapitation photos? Just admit to your own bad judgment and move on.

1. Thank you, but, no, I am not wrong. This issue needs to be exposed, which is why the photo was taken in the first place and published in a magazine. Did you go out of your way to track down the photographer, the writer of the piece and publisher of the magazine in order to tell them they were wrong in taking and publishing the photograph? Are you defending this practice by making such excuses?

It is important that people know what is going on in the world, affecting millions of females, women and girls.

I may have made a mistake in posting the image to FB according to their rules, and I have already apologized repeatedly for that error, so there was no need for your hostile commentary.

In the meantime, the issue still needs to be brought to the people’s attention, regardless of whether or not Facebook is the place to do it.

1. The message wasn’t hostile. You have apologized for violating FB rules. Fine. Done. Over. Quit trying to make FB and your readers see it YOUR way.

44. c’mon, what are you waiting for, reinstate this great writer and investigator of all the untruths we have been given over time,,Alex

45. Ignorant backward barbarians deserve to be exposed
Facebook and Google are actively banning and censoring individual’s, groups, and associations that “they” consider to be “dangerous” to the common society via political correctness. It is a way of shutting up those that cannot be otherwise controlled. If they do not the message or the information, they put an end to it. This is fast becoming a Gestapo like tactic with orders coming straight from Washington DC. Our first Amendment rights are being put to the torch!

46. Targeted
“Facebook is a private enterprise that has the right to choose its users. Those users do not pay for the privilege; and it is a huge privilege for writers to have access to such a massive readership. Whoever has been targeting me knows this full well.” — this from Ruthie Blum http://observer.com/2013/08/abusing-the-system-facebook-standards-and-the-people-who-violate-them/ when it happened to her.

I’m not surprised it’s happened to you Acharya. I AM surprised that it didn’t happen sooner. You’re a threat. An intelligent, well articulated threat to the Xian Plan of world domination through religion.

We’ll put together a page for you at Crackbook — probably several — and you can update it (them) at your convenience. It’s doubtful that they will reinstate your account, but there is always hope.

Hang in there baby — you’re loved and appreciated.

I have half a mind to boycott crackbook, but why cut off my own nose?

47. I assume you can afford a lawyer
I assume you can afford a lawyer – see if you state has an arbitrary discrimination law such as California’s Unruh Civil Rights Act (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unruh_Civil_Rights_Act). Contrary to popular opinion in most states a business DOES NOT have an unrestricted right to refuse service to anyone.

48. My commentary on Facebook:

Facebook is not a country. It is in the United States. Facebook should follow the rules of our Constitution of which one is Freedom of Speech. If Facebook cannot tell the difference between anthropology and pornography, they should apologize to Acharya S/D.M. Murdock and all her adult intelligent rational humanistic followers and reinstate her.

Also, they need to hire grownups who can monitor bullies on Facebook who have caused the suicide of several teenagers, which is a matter of life and death, not confusion over a photo…..one family is suing Facebook. Facebook is paradise to pedophiles, porn lovers and evil hearts.

49. Your advice is pretty much how we are approaching this issue, so kudos on excellent thinking! B)

As I say, exposing the world’s atrocities is part of my religious calling, as defined in my video, “Please respect my religion! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Dy1Z8IEjIg)” FB’s actions here could fall under religious discrimination, as in the Unruh Civil Rights Act (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unruh_Civil_Rights_Act). (H/t Teufel Wolf)

50. Thank you. I am sorry you suffered. As someone who has suffered, however, you should be in favor of all efforts to expose this abuse, not to hide it so that the perpetrators can carry it out in secrecy.

I disagree that posting an anthropological photograph from a mainstream MAGAZINE about a cultural practice in Africa is in “bad taste” and is “hiding behind freethought.” That latter comment could be construed as a very seedy insinuation that my motives were not pure. My intent was absolutely pure, and I will continue to expose this heinous child abuse. These girls suffered like you did – should no one come to their aid, because that would be in “bad taste” and “hiding behind freethought?”

Have you never read National Geographic or other anthropological publication? Do you go to their website and object to them photographing rituals like this one and then publishing them in their magazine?

If you think this centuries-old practice is a “crime,” you should be happy there are those working to expose it. You should also then wish to inform those perpetrating this abuse that they are committing a crime, rather than castigating those attempting to expose their crime.

As stated on the website Stop Violence Against Women:
“Researchers have found evidence that such tests increase violence against women, including those found to be virgins, as there is a widespread belief that men with HIV can be cured of their disease by having sexual intercourse with a virgin.”
It is time for such abuse to be shut down, not hidden in the dark.

51. No offense, but if you’re not in the freethought movement and you’re american, you’re probably a christian. That probably means another christian molested you. If that’s true, you’d be better off with freethinkers than christians. We all know about catholic priests…

52. FB has made a huge mistake
Fb has screwed up big time. How intentional this is, remains to be seen. But no doubt it is a huge mistake that they MUST ammend and offer apologies for. If petition and letters fail to get your account back then a fundraiser should be started up to pay for legal advice, or the call put out for a sympathetic lawyer’s help in order to pursue the matter legally.

If it was me, I’d try my best to get that fb account reinstated, air the shameful matter as much as possible and then, STOP using the damned FB altogether! If you get them back, migrate your pages somewhere else Acharya, and never look back, that’s my advice…

Lovewaves rippling and joyful revelations
xxx

53. Posting triggering images of sexual abuse on Faceb
As a survivor of childhood molestation I find your posting of naked girls being sexually probed to be in extremely bad paste and hiding behind freethought is horrible. If this is what the Freethought movement is going to be about then I don’t want anything to do with it.

You could have made the same point without posting triggering images of sexual crimes on Facebook.

1. The ‘Sock Puppet’ Response?
Quite interesting from barely mentioned point (I was molested and offended) to ‘conclusion’, which somehow gets to ‘free thought’ as the culprit. And of course, VALIDATION for f!ckbook. Yes, in matters of rape, mutilation of genitalia, and murder… we must all make sure to be ‘tasteful’ in a response to crimes against humanity – F!CK That BS. It needs to be seen and condemned in all aspects of its reality.

54. I’m just seeing this. Apologies
Yeah, they were all ‘looking’ for an excuse. I’d say you are correct on the ‘semi-official reason’ – no actionable reason – for your ban. As for your loss. I can tell you for a fact, there have been many posts on my facebook page that have disappeared. Most likely scenario is that you had already lost many of your ‘important’ old posts. Thanks again for all your efforts. Best, Dr Ed

55. Yosef, now Zuckerman
Zuckerman, Avraham, Died 10-10-13. Just a coincidence that their old ‘embarrassing’ ‘Rabbids’ are dying. They were old and didn’t linger hardly at all. Anyway, since you told me about Yosef, want to see if you had seen this one. Best, Dr Ed

1. By the way, Ed, this person attacking me on the other article where you left that message came to my FB page and began attacking me personally there. She is a very vicious person who, when I banned her for her spewing of hate speech at me, became vindictive and wrote a vile review on one of my books.

If you look at the petition page comments, you will see why I attract jealous, mentally ill cyberstalkers (https://www.change.org/petitions/facebook-reinstate-acharya-s-s-facebook-page).

I appreciate your defense against such individuals.

56. There are some unpleasant characters going around ranting at Ophelia Benson and me for posting this image. They keep trying to equate the exposure of this initiation ritual record with “pornography” and are attacking us personally, of course.

My response: It is not difficult to understand how an ANTHROPOLOGICAL IMAGE of a RELIGIOUS and COMING OF AGE RITUAL is different from the trash people keep fixating on. The photo in question was in a magazine story about a initiation ritual performed in Africa. These virginity tests are described graphically on Wikipedia and elsewhere. They are done PUBLICLY and with great pride by an entire CULTURE, not filmed in a back room by a bunch of pedophiles. Honestly, where IS your mind at?

Moreover, this invasive procedure is now being done increasingly in the West, and entire governments such as the Canadian are now having to deal with this issue. I can guarantee that the doctors dealing with this issue are seeing much worse than what is in this photo – they are undoubtedly also reading medical and anthropological literature with many such images in them, possibly dating back decades, as this CULTURAL PRACTICE is very ancient.

As I’ve stated repeatedly, I was raised on National Geographic magazine. I have read many anthropological stories, while it appears the barely literate critics are ignorant of the world at large.

The people making vile comments are displaying their own psyches, and I do not appreciate these disgusting remarks and insinuations – again, they reflect your own minds. And such abuses of persons trying to expose these practices and prevent them from occurring in our lands will only help this tradition to flourish.

If we allow such ugliness chase activists from the stage, there will be no voices for the millions of women and children who are at risk for this invasive and abusive practice. SHAME ON YOU for trying to bully us into silence with your nasty interpretations and myopic vision.

By the way, the image in question has been on Google search engine for YEARS, as well as on WordPress for YEARS. It is now on Twitter. An apparently Christian man took it at an apparently Christian ceremony. Unless you are prepared to make vile comments about all those individuals, you should keep your bullying to yourselves.

In the meantime, Ophelia and I are actually trying to HELP these poor females, while you with your perverse mentalities are standing in the way. Again, for shame! I would also bet that the people making such foul comments are misogynists and sexists in significant part. I reject this mentality and will continue to fight for females globally not to be oppressed by this intrusive practice. An entire state in Indonesia wants to make this abuse MANDATORY for ALL schoolgirls, and you’re going to sit here giving us flack? Disgraceful and disgusting.

It’s ugliness like this practice that needs to be banned, not those who expose it. Whose side are you on? That of the abusers?

57. Speaking of female genital mutilation, below is a photograph by a doctor used in a scientific publication to accompany a study and posted on Wikimedia for all the world to see.

This part of the description on the Wikimedia page for the FGM image shows where it was published:
M. Ellaithi, T. Nilsson, D. Gisselsson, A. Elagib, H. Eltigani and I. Fadl-Elmula: Female Genital Mutilation of a karyotypic male presenting as a case of female with delayed puberty. BMC Women’s Health, Volume 6, 2006, doi:10.1186/1472-6874-6-6, p.11 ; Online: biomedcentral.com, Figure 3: The patient’s external genitalia
What these medical authorities have done is little different from what I was doing in using the image in question to illustrate the article I was posting.

I can’t check, but it may be that if you do a search on FB for some of the names above or other search term, the FB search engine will return this Wikimedia page with its graphic image.

WARNING – Graphic:

http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Type_IV_circumcision.jpg (http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Type_IV_circumcision.jpg)

This FGM image above is far more shocking than the one of the little girls. It depicts in detail a vulva that has been mutilated severely.

Scientific and scholarly publications often include illustrations such as the one above and the one I used to accompany a news story about virginity testing. Again, the image in question had been published in a magazine, presumably one that actually had circulation and was not simply for the photographer’s sole purpose. This fact means that the anthropological record of the virginity ritual had been seen already, possibly by thousands of people in Africa and elsewhere.

58. I should add that, when Oprah Winfrey did a show female genital mutilation, she aired some very graphic images, including one with blood cascading out of the girl’s crotch.

So, shall we rant at Oprah for that graphic program?

Some of the videos on the following page about FGM are very graphic – shall we go after the producers and accuse them of trash?

http://www.fgmnetwork.org/reference/femfilms.html (http://www.fgmnetwork.org/reference/femfilms.html)

This video, in fact, is far more graphic than what we’ve posted here – you are warned!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KyicR_oeynE (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KyicR_oeynE)

Note that the video above is not even set to 18+ on Youtube.

There are images like THIS all over the internet:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:FGC_Types.svg (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:FGC_Types.svg)

Note that one is from Wikipedia – all you need to do is click on their “Female genital mutilation” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Female_genital_mutilation) article. Again, shall we now rant and make accusations? Or shall we grow up at last and face our human sexuality in a mature and healthy manner for a change, instead of humiliating and mutilating children?

59. Equality?
Having just read what Facebook has banned Acharya S for makes me wonder – Are the Facebook editors of the same species as the rest of we humans on the internet are? I have a DVD named “The Origins Of Us” and apparently we have been an independent species for over 6 million years – True we certainly have evolved but the gender ratio is still %50 male and %50 female. Now I only finished year seven at school but even I can do the required maths to know that this gender ratio means that we are on an equal evolutionary balance and footing. I did not want to read about forced marriages or female circumcision, as a man this would have made me far to unhappy and upset at one of Australia’s nearest neighbors. Surely those who perform these circumcisions know the consequences of their actions – I guess that this is why they perform them – I would also guess that these people who perform such operations are what I will describe as “Necromancers” – They are worshipers of a “Prophet” who died thirteen to fourteen hundred years ago – While I can easily accept that when this man who lived fourteen hundred years ago wrote out his perception of how humans should act towards each other – His ideas were probably quite appropriate – But times have changed – We are now living in the twenty-first century – Our civilizations and the knowledge gathered, stored and used by we humans now quite easily allow – TOTAL EQUALITY – Why should any woman be circumcised when she is just a child – I would even say that any adult male, who is of the opinion that female human children require circumcision, obviously needs castration so that he is at least aware of the consequences of his behavior.

60. another possibility
“Unfortunately, for safety and security reasons, we cannot provide additional information as to why your account was disabled.” That’s boilerplate, but I think it means they don’t want you to know who complained about you or any information about the content of the complaint through which you theoretically could deduce who complained about you. ” You will not post content that: is hate speech…” “You will not use Facebook to do anything … misleading, malicious, or discriminatory.” Those standards are as subjective as they come, but they suggest the possibility that Muslims who found your criticism of Islam offensive may have worked up a complaint about you with all kinds of “refutations” of things you have said and that it wasn’t only the photo, which wasn’t pornographic by any legal definition. I suppose that Christians or Jews could have tried to do the same, but public criticism of Islam for some reason seems to be less tolerated than public criticism of Christianity and much less tolerated than public criticism of Judaism.

1. Of course, we already considered the possibility that my frank analysis of Islamic fanaticism led to complaints, which I refer vaguely to in my blog post.

However, I’ve been engaged in such discussions for several years now on Facebook, and my account was only closed the day after I posted the image in question. There are many others engaged in criticism of Islamic fanaticism online, some of them far harsher. I doubt that’s the cause.

1. Well, in any case, the whole situation inclines me to make a monthly donation to support your work. I’m just trying to figure out what I can afford.

1. Beheadings on Facebook
Apparently, Facebook is fine with showing video clips of BEHEADINGS – I guess FB wants the world to know what Islam does on a regular, if not daily, basis.

61. Why do you ask me in the first sentence to do something unethical and then pretend to be ethical in grilling me with your subsequent questions, which insinuate some seedy motive?

If you wish to read my blog post, feel free. There is no “plagiarism” involved, as I’ve attributed the source to the best of my ability, as linked and captioned. In United States copyright law, there is something called “Fair Use” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fair_use) when using an image, quote or other element, so long as it is attributed, which it is here. Do you go around the internet grilling everyone who has unattributed images on their website? Please feel free to do so, while refraining from such commentary about those of us who actually do credit our sources.

I have no interest in your insinuations and suspicions, which merely reflect your own unethical thinking, as in your first question.

62. ALTERNATIVE
why don’t u use a totally different email account to re-open another fbk page. secondly, if this picture u found on google images was published in 2009, what business do u have posting it on ur fbk in – i’m guessing – 2013? secondly, did u do your research into the picture and how things are being done in that area of Nigeria now, b4 posting such a picture on your facebook page? – was your reason for posting this picture because u and your team travelled to Nigeria to take this picture or did you just plagiarise someone else’s picture off from Google images. ?

63. Cultural differences
What happened to respecting the cultures of other people around the world? We all have different traditions that we adhere to whether it be for the world to see or behind closed doors

1. Sorry, but that excuse doesn’t fly. What if “cultural differences” included killing your neighbors and eating them? Such cannibalism’s happened in many cultures. We should just allow any heinous practice because someone claims it as their “culture?”

The bottom line is that children should not be subjected to invasive and unnecessary procedures on their bodies, simply because of their gender and genitalia. I have no respect for such “cultural practices,” and neither should you.

If an adult woman who is of sound mind wants to have a virginity test, that’s her business, but these are children. In our culture, we protect our children, and this “cultural practice” is coming into our culture. We will not be tolerating little girls lying around on the ground being subjected to invasive procedures. In our culture, this sort of behavior would get one arrested for child abuse. So, please respect our culture.

And please respect my religion (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Dy1Z8IEjIg), in which this “cultural practice” is considered child abuse.

64. Everyone might want to call facebook out on their
Facebook is lifting their ban on the posting of Beheading videos

http://gizmodo.com/facebook-is-lifting-its-ban-on-decapitation-videos-1449606221?utm_campaign=socialflow_gizmodo_facebook&utm_source=gizmodo_facebook&utm_medium=socialflow

Their reason as quoted from the BBC on the above referenced link….

“Facebook has long been a place where people turn to share their experiences, particularly when they’re connected to controversial events on the ground, such as human rights abuses, acts of terrorism and other violent events. People are sharing this video on Facebook to condemn it. If the video were being celebrated, or the actions in it encouraged, our approach would be different.

“However, since some people object to graphic video of this nature, we are working to give people additional control over the content they see. This may include warning them in advance that the image they are about to see contains graphic content.”

65. Hypocrisy!
So I see on the BBC news today that Facebook is allowing “beheading videos” to return, saying that its a persons right to condemn these barbaric actions.

So its ok to see people being murdered in the most brutal way, but completely out of the question to see the depravity of young girls being forced to prove their virginity at the hands of perverted old men?

66. “What happened to respecting the cultures of other people around the world?”

Its not a “culture” when its torturing children, have you considered what would happen to those girls if they were molested by a family member and then found not to be virgins? Their life would be completely ruined all over again.

“Culture” is another word for willfully ignorant people to hide behind, like the word “tradition”. Just like cutting the genitals of infant boys and girls to satisfy a tradition of ignorance.

Sorry but no culture or human being has the right to inflict harm, emotionally or physically on children.

67. Me too now, FB blocked my page.
I signed the petitions for you and broadcasted the news. The next day/morn my FB account has been closed, or locked to me. One report says I am not using my real name and the other reports FB can choose who is part of the community. So, so much for the true face of FB, and so much for freedom on the net and with all these so-called ‘social sites.’ I am so sick of losing freedoms and rights in person and online it is NOT funny.

People also did not like the fact that I as a veteran, supported the Veteran March on DC and the truckers a couple of weeks ago. So since FB has been closing accounts over that too. Again, closing accounts for merely liking something and agreeing with something that FB heads and gamers don’t agree with or like? Shows what Zuckerberg and his clan are all about.

That is my real name, and email. And I think FB gathers too much information on us and then verifying our account closing by costing us again in … cell phone calls and countless phone number verification calls. What a rigged game FB is. Right along with the other net biggies and controllers of censorship and stopping free speech.

68. More run around from FB
“Please note that you have to attach a copy of your government-issued photo ID so we can confirm that this is your real name. This document must show your full name, photo, and date of birth. Find out more here: https://www.facebook.com/help/?page=148993491xxxxx

Thanks,
The Facebook Team”

They have all my real information and now they want more. And when I do they … decline again? Just who the hell is getting all this information only to have it denied?! What a game they seem to love playing.

Oh well, no big deal. FB is nothing more than a collection site for NSA and Israel it seems.

1. Sorry to hear that – strange timing. One wonders if that happened to others who shared my story and signed my petition. It’s the first one I’ve heard of since my story broke.

I do know two other people who were bounced out years ago and were asked for ID. One never came back.

1. Hi
Add two more to that. Yeah, the timing on this is unusual shall we say. I also guess they are still causing trouble with veterans and others over that Washington DC vet march two week-ends ago. However, I must add that my local paper banned me some years back as well for posting some of your info and other issues, like corruption, I have been dealing with. The local mainstreamers and others don’t like honest debate or ‘free thinking.’ They also don’t like freedom of speech and expression, or being challenged with some facts. While I am all for freedom, period. Heck, ‘Disqus’ won’t allow me, or my pc, to post on any forum where they are used. I upset them and the paper’s editor here so much. Oh well.

I also had to re-register on the Free thought page. Seems my older name and password would not be accepted but would tell me the old email address was in use when registering again. LOL Just not my day for logging in and passwords.

Keep up the good fight. I won’t.

69. Savoir Faire
My favorite intellectual was blocked (disabled) for posting opposition to female mutilation? I guess Zuckerburg supports it???? Most Americans support Christianity, which is the world’s longest running terror organization, complete with 17 centuries of torture. war and genocide. Now the Zionists (Zuckerburg is one) are in charge of World War and have killed hundreds of millions. Acharya S is an INTELLECTUAL who opposes ALL mystic religion due to the human misery and retardation they cause. Why do “they” block her and support war, torture and retardation????? Same reason that Hitler was funded and supported by Wall Street and slavery is approved there, as well. The same Zionists in charge of Wall Street (One World Order) have now poisoned the entire Pacific Ocean and are installing new Nukes in Georgia and England, plus 100 more on the books for the world…Go figure…

1. More truth
I must agree and have been fighting that occupation and source of censorship here in my town for over forty years now. When I woke up to it all. Shortly I’ll be sixty years old. That sir makes us the enemy of many especially when it comes to media and ‘free thought.’ May you all have a great free thinking day!

70. What a joke!
I was wondering why there wasn’t any posts from your pages. Facebook has all kinds of T & A pages with whores with their legs spread with panties on, and you get booted for this. You were jewed!!! Al CIA-duh book sucks!!

71. Facebook Erred
Perhaps you broke their policy by showing naked people on facebook. I believe FB policy is to prevent pornography. I don’t think a graphic representation of torture that shows naked people being brutalized is pornographic in intent. FB should show some integrity and reinstate you in my opinion. Perhaps you can write a letter that will get them to reverse it.

1. Thanks. Yes, it seems I went afoul of the “nudity” rule, although I only saw sexist child abuse that needs to be addressed.

As concerns a letter, oh, I’ve tried! At the top of this article is a link to a petition, as here:

https://www.change.org/petitions/facebook-reinstate-acharya-s-s-facebook-page (https://www.change.org/petitions/facebook-reinstate-acharya-s-s-facebook-page)

All assistance and support is greatly appreciated!

We also have a press release:

72. Life to fight another day !
I was surprised to hear the news of your being banned from FB… :Pinch: But silver lining is that pretty soon FB will be for all those “look what i had for lunch” people and the rest of us thinkers will have to find a new way to interact. Keep fighting we all need your wisdom. Love, Becca

1. Thanks, Becca. I’ve decided to concentrate on making Google+ my new home. Doesn’t feel very cozy at the moment. It might be too intellectual and boring, frankly.

I’m thinking of doing a “video hangout” Q&A on Google+, once I can figure out all the features there.

Here’s my G+ account – notice that even the link is cold, sterile and arbitrary:

https://plus.google.com/102976142066805161564/posts (https://plus.google.com/102976142066805161564/posts)

Would be nice to personalize it.

73. Female Virginity Test
It think everyone should be offended by this article. But not at Acharya S. for posting a photo or exposing this crime in her article. The truth should always be seen and heard. The truth may not always be attractive or what we want to hear, but it should always be exposed. People should be offended that this sort of abuse still occurs in our world today. They should be offended by people who perpetuate these deviant sexual practices such as male and female circumcision, and virginity tests.

74. Attack on Free Thought
This action against Acharya S is another example of a blatant attempt to censure free thought around the world.

Many won’t see this as part of a worldwide attempt by the United Nations and others to stifle free thought/speech.

What will it take for people to oppose such activities while it is still possible to do so, because I can see that freedom ending.

75. Facebook picture
In support of DM Murdock (aka Achrya S) why don’t all change our Facebook picture to one of Acharya? The very same picture! Or why doesn’t some one make some sort of banner we can put in place of our FB picture which says, “REINSTATE ACHARYA”?

76. Facebook?
Forget Facebook once and for all! It’s but another ways & means for ‘Big Brother’ to watch those expressing freedom of speech and opinions. The great Democratic experiment, that of the American dream, ended decades ago. It’s all now a matter of Home Land Security (aka American NAZIs) that rule.

I am Christian and still always will be…but this lady also needs to be heard and read!

Beheadings? It’s acceptable to show in the Moslem world as testimony for Sharia punishments for those that commit crimes against Islam. But certainly a testimony that supports horrific violence to publicly show and be available even to children. But gawd forbid to show a woman’s nipple that is God / Allah created and having no shame or wrong in it to see and wonder of. People faint when a nipple is shown but become enthralled when a person’s head is cut off on uTube? Or on Facebook?

Best to BAN Facebook!

77. re: FB Banishment
Bummer. Guess you ticket off 1 too many "Muzlimz"
Love your work. Keep at it.
Facebook is Jewish owned & controlled…..not by Muslims.

78. You are welcome to join Shmooze
You are welcome to join Shmoozezone.com. While the ToS does include CYA statements, the atmosphere at Shmooze is not to censor content.

79. Discussing the offensiveness of “virginity tests” and making pages like “rapebook” (which tracked rape culture on facebook) will get you banned. Meanwhile pages that incite rape and murder (re: “Should _____ be murdered?”) are NOT deleted from facebook until public outcry gets too large. No doubt that’s what happened with you “acharyas” account, it took public outrage got it reinstated.

It boggles my mind why people want to use facebook at all. The hypocrisy in enforcement of their “policies” is well known. The only web space that you’ll find more pro-rape filth than facebook is on a pedoophiles’ message board.

1. Thank you.

It’s not mindboggling why anyone would use Facebook who wishes their work to get out into the public eye, without having access to massive resources.

Facebook is very useful in order to alert hundreds, thousands or millions of people almost instantly about numerous important issues. It would be foolish for someone desiring to do activist work to ignore this massive resource.

80. ridiculous and hypocritical
It seems to me that even though FB has been your go to place for sharing activism information and news and even though they have reinstated you, it is time to find another outlet to share from. Their hypocrisy is unethical and it may reflect on us users of FB; that we go along with the way FB is structured and operates. I am not sure why we tolerate it, if it due to complacency or just exactly what it is we are thinking or not thinking about. It seems to me that we only squawk about it when someone like Acharya S is singled out. I am glad that they reversed their decision. Here is my idea. Encourage your 10,000 followers to find you on your new go to place and they will come. Encourage the 10,000 to leave FB completely. Yeah, let’s all leave FB in the dust. Maybe they would think twice before doing a similar deed again. MLWell it’s probably not likely but the idealist in me would like to think our leaving would give FB a wake up call.

81. I’ll right away snatch your rss feed as I can’t in finding your e-mail subscription hyperlink or e-newsletter service.

Do you have any? Kindly let me recognize so that I may subscribe.
Thanks.
