African children tortured by their parents
and pastors for being "witches"
Christ-insanity strikes again, unfortunately encouraging Africa's longstanding paranoia about "witches" and thereby creating an atmosphere in which, according to the Associated Press, thousands of children have been tortured and murdered in its name.
Christian ideology teaches that we are all "born in sin" pieces of garbage only redeemable through submission to the will of the Jewish godman Jesus Christ. Taking this human-hatred one step further in Africa, appealling to a deep-seated fear of "witches," we have an incendiary situation ripe for abuse - and evidently all these children are paying for it.
What a planet.
Churches involved in torture, murder of thousands of African children denounced as witches
The idea of witchcraft is hardly new, but it has taken on new life recently partly because of a rapid growth in evangelical Christianity. Campaigners against the practice say around 15,000 children have been accused in two of Nigeria's 36 states over the past decade and around 1,000 have been murdered....
EKET, Nigeria (AP) — The nine-year-old boy lay on a bloodstained hospital sheet crawling with ants, staring blindly at the wall.
His family pastor had accused him of being a witch, and his father then tried to force acid down his throat as an exorcism. It spilled as he struggled, burning away his face and eyes. The emaciated boy barely had strength left to whisper the name of the church that had denounced him — Mount Zion Lighthouse.
A month later, he died.

This one really hits home. We have been trying to save to adopt one of these kids. We have a home and love but lack the 20k required to rescue one of these kids. Hopefully by this time next year we can proceed with the adoption. If anyone has a good idea as to how to get the dough (without robbing a bank) send me your idea. We're going to do some bake sales and perhaps ask some churches to put there money where their mouth is but that would hurt. I may have to suck it up.
